What You Will Need for General Notarizations?

A Few Things Are Required For General Notarization:

I.D.: Every signer must show valid (not expired) photo identification for general notarization. Most importantly all identification must contain a photo, a physical description, a signature, and a serial number. To clarify the notary will state that he or she has identified the document signer using satisfactory identification. The following types of identification are recognized in Florida:

  • Driver License
  • State Issued ID Card (Senior ID, Under 18 ID, CA ID)
  • U.S. Passport
  • U.S. Military ID Card
  • Mexican or Canadian Driver License issued by an authorized agency
  • Foreign Passport if stamped by the Immigration and Naturalization Service

Documents: Therefore you supply your documents, statements, forms, letters, affidavits, Powers of Attorney, Advanced Health Care Directives, etc. Fill in all blanks. Do not sign or date. Consequently the notarial portion will be completed and provided if necessary at the time of notarization. A Notary Public is unable to draft, change, or provide legal advice concerning your document. However if you have questions please work with the company or agency who drafted your document. Or who will be receiving them once they are completed?

Willingness & Knowledge: Every signer must demonstrate a willingness to sign the documents without coercion. He/she must also be aware of what they are signing. It also needs to understand the significance of the transaction. The document signer either signs the document in the presence of the notary. Or verbally acknowledges to the notary that the signature on the document was placed onto the document by him or her. And was done so in their authorized capacity.

Ability to Communicate: All signers must be able to communicate in English. I’ll not notarize, If a signer does not speak English. The documents can be in any language. However, the notarial portion must be in English and will be provided as needed.

Thank you for choosing Ivan Notary.
